Annie Belle Slaton, 93, of Dawsonville, died Dec. 31, 2010.

Born Aug. 1, 1917 to the late John and Ethel Robertson, she was a lifelong resident of Dawson County. A homemaker at her death, for many years she and her husband operated a poultry farm.

Mrs. Slaton was the oldest member of Harmony Baptist Church.

Her husband, Jewell Slaton, and six brothers, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her children, Joe and Lillian Slaton of Dawsonville, Louise and Wayne Garrett of Gainesville, Glenn and Dianne Slaton of Kennesaw; grandchildren, Joey Slaton, Denise Grizzle, Paula Garrett, Chris Slaton, Greg Slaton; seven great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; special friends, Mary, Fannie and Brenda; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Jan. 3 at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Joey Gilbert officiating. Interment followed in Dawsonville Memorial Gardens.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
