Aline Stowers, 93, of Dawsonville, died Saturday, Nov. 22, 2008.

  

Mrs. Stowers was a lifelong resident of Dawson County and a member of Harmony Baptist Church.

  

Beginning her career in a one-room schoolhouse, she had a teaching career that spanned over 40 years in the Dawson County School System.

  

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Couch; husband, Floyd Stowers; sisters, Mary McCoy Robinson; brothers, Grady Couch and Glenn Couch.

  

Survivors include her children, Henrietta and Ron Delvinthal, Joyce and Frank Garrett, Jolene Smith, Arnold and Ellen Stowers, Donald and Lie Hwa Stowers, all of Gainesville, Harriett Wells of Baldwin, Ray and Brenda Wells of Dawsonville; sister and brother-in-law, Anita and Joe Fleming; 16 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; various other relatives also survive.

  

Funeral services were Monday, Nov. 24 at 2 p.m. at Harmony Baptist Church with the remains placed in state at 1:30 p.m. Rev. Joey Gilbert officiated.

  

Interment followed in the church cemetery.

  

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
