Authorities say that one person was killed on Monday afternoon, following a motorcycle wreck near Hwy. 53 and Hugh Stowers Road in Dawson County. 

According to Dawson County Fire Chief Danny Thompson, first responders arrived at the wreck at 6:02 p.m. and found a motorcycle wrecked on the roadway fully involved in flames. 

Thompson said that they also found one deceased individual at the scene of the wreck, but had no information on whether the deceased individual was the driver of the motorcycle. 

The Georgia State Patrol will be investigating the circumstances of this wreck. 

As of 6 p.m. Tuesday, the GSP was not able to provide the Dawson County News with any additional information about the wreck.
