Qualifying held for 2022 primary election

Correction: The early voting dates listed in the March 9 edition of DCN were incomplete. Advance voting will be from May 2-20 from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. and both Saturdays May 7 and 14 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Board of Elections office. 


This past week, candidates qualified for the primary election on May 24. The general election will be on Nov. 8. 

State and federal congressional district maps changed after data collection for the 2020 census was completed this past fall.

The voter registration deadline for the primary is April 25. Advance voting will be from May 2-20 from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. and both Saturdays May 7 and 14 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Board of Elections office.

The central precinct is located at 96 Academy Avenue in Dawsonville.
