DCHS Healthcare Science program receives Industry Certification

Dawson County High School's Healthcare Science instructor Leigh Ann Dyer, students and program recently received Industry Certification from the Georgia Department of Education and Hometown Health University, according to a press release by the Dawson County College and Career Academy.

According to the release, this stamp of excellence represents the highest of program quality. 

“Only programs that have successfully undergone the rigorous reviews by leaders from business and industry are recognized with this distinction,” the release said. 

The review team noted that the Healthcare Science classroom and lab space were exemplary in their organization and arrangement, the release added. 

“Industry Certification Dawson County College and Career Academy is dedicated to providing students real life experiences in the classroom, worksites and with their Career Tech Student Organizations (CTSO),” the release said. “This certification is another authentic opportunity for our students to demonstrate employability skills needed in the workplace."
