Schools in the Dawson County School System will have a virtual learning day on Tuesday Jan. 18 due to ongoing fallout from the weekend’s winter weather, according to an announcement the school system made on Monday afternoon.

“With numerous power outages and dangerous secondary road conditions on the north end of the county, Dawson County Schools will have a virtual learning day Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2022,” the announcement said.

Due to a provider issue, the district’s website is currency down, so parents are instructed to access their children’s assignments in Schoology via a direct link at rmd.me/LCS64KQ5VcA, the announcement said. Students in grades 6 through 12 should be able to access Schoology through the app on their iPads.

The announcement added that 12 month employees should report by 10 a.m. if it is safe to do so, and that they should communicate with their direct supervisors for any questions.
