Dawson County graduates celebrated by Mountain Education Charter High School

Mountain Education Charter High School in Dawson County recently celebrated seven graduates at a ceremony held at the school on Thursday, June 3, 2021. 

Students honored at the ceremony included Cheyenne Neeley, Hunter Hammond, Luke Ray, Eli Sweatman, Millicent Thiltgen, Katherine Wadsworth and Katlyn Wimpey, according to a school press release.

The release states that in addition to receiving her diploma, Neeley was honored as the school’s High Honor Graduate for earning the highest GPA of any senior at the campus. Wimpey, an Honor Graduate, was also recognized for achieving a Certified Nursing Assistant certification as a dual-enrolled student at Lanier Technical College. 

Additional diplomas and scholarships will be awarded as students complete their graduation requirements prior to July 31, the release said. 

“Mountain Education Charter High School Dawson Campus would like to extend a special thank you to our community sponsors for scholarships for our students moving on to post-secondary education opportunities,” the release said.
