One duo from an Atlanta suburb was recently apprehended after their attempt to steal from a North Georgia Premium Outlets store went awry.
Ellenwood women Vanessa Lynn Lloyd, 37, and Toni Simone Richardson, 49, were both arrested by the Dawson County Sheriff’s Office on Nov. 27 for suspicions of stealing
from the outlet mall’s Sunglass Hut.
Lloyd was charged with one count each of possession of tools to commit a crime and theft by shoplifting. Richardson received the same charges plus another count of possession of tools to commit a crime.
One warrant alleged that the thefts occurred on Nov. 27 between 3-4 p.m. at Sunglass Hut. Richardson allegedly stole a pair of Prada Black Gray Pol sunglasses, worth $392, concealing them and exiting the store by going past the cash registers without paying.
A second warrant alleged that Lloyd stole a pair of Gucci Black and Grey sunglasses, worth $390, from the store.
Two warrants stated that Richardson and Lloyd had empty bags from two different stores, “commonly used in the commission of theft, with the intent to conceal the act of shoplifting.”
A fifth warrant alleged Richardson had bolt cutters to cut tags or wires off of merchandise.
On Nov. 29, Lloyd and Richardson were both released on a $1,300 bond, according to DCSO.
