Local business DahloneGO is creating quite the splash in Dawson and its surrounding counties through the vehicle service’s unique range of transportation services, from bridal transportation to wine tours, airport rides and everything in between.
According to DahloneGO representative Monica Walker, the business was first started in 2021 through an idea that the company’s owners had out of their own personal experience.
“DahloneGO started with a vision that our owners had after going to several local events and things; they realized there was a need for transportation options in the local area,” Walker said. “We started with three employees, two buses and two drivers and booked our first wedding in September of 2021. Since then we have 22 drivers, 9 employees, 18 buses plus shuttle vans, transit vans and suburbans.”
DahloneGO’s two biggest offerings are wedding transportation services and wine tours in the North Georgia area, she said, but since its inception the company has added several other options for its customers.
“Not only have we done weddings — which we can take up to 200 guests at the same time — we’ve done transportation for fraternities and sororities, we’ve taken large groups to ball games, concerts, and we do door-to-door airport transportation for one up to how many you need in a group,” Walker said.
The company has also recently branched out even more and added its own venue, The Venue at 223 located in Dahlonega, to offer event space for its customers to rent.
“The newest thing in addition to DahloneGO is our Venue at 223, and it’s a large, beautiful event space that we have decorated nicely and it can be decorated for whatever event you have for large groups up to a little over 100; we have it there for brides, any events they have, corporate meetings, or any large group meetings that you need a nice, beautiful space to hold your event in,” Walker said.
On March 14, the Dawson County Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting ceremony for DahloneGO, welcoming the company to the chamber and to the community. Before cutting the ribbon, chamber President and CEO Mandy Power expressed her excitement at the wide array of transportation services that the company offers.
“What a huge need for our community to have services like this; as y’all know we have tourism in our office and we get calls all the time asking about transportation,” Power said. “It’s also good to know the type of information; we’ve all been in a sketchy Uber so it’s good to know that we have a reliable, friendly, good company to call.”
Those interested in booking transportation services through DahloneGO can call the company at 706-864-5718.
“Just give us a call, give us a little information about what you need and we take care of it from there,” Walker said. “As Dawson County grows and as DahloneGO grows, we want to be there for you and to provide safe, reliable and friendly transportation options for the community.”
