Keep Dawson County Beautiful’s annual electronics recycling event is next weekend.

The event is an opportunity for members of the community to bring their electronics to be recycled in a safe and effective manner.

Volunteers will be in the Dawsonville Walmart parking lot from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 28 to help unload scanners, fax machines, printers, monitors, stereo equipment, laptops, radios and more to be recycled.

Items that will be accepted include: cables, CD-ROMS, circuit boards, computer cables, computer parts, copiers, fax machines, key boards, laptops, modems, mice, network equipment, PC monitors, PC power supplies, printers, projectors, scanners, test equipment, personal computers, home telephones, microwaves, camcorders, cameras, CB radios, cell phones, radios, record players, stereos and CD players.

No car or household batteries will be accepted, and floppy disks and hard drives will be securely destroyed and shredded at a warehouse.

All items will be recycled for free with the exception of TVs and CRT monitors.
