Dawson County Middle School held its inaugural Career Day on May 14.
Eighteen parent volunteers donated an hour of time to speak with the students about careers.
Each speaker presented job duties, education and training requirements, as well as touched on character traits needed to be successful in the work force.
Becca Wilson, middle school counselor, coordinated the event.
“This is a great opportunity for our students as well as our parents. Middle school is a time for students to explore careers, and this event allowed them to learn about different options that are available on the local level,” she said.
