Dawson County Schools will be offering pre-k registration next week for one class at Kilough Elementary and two classes at Riverview Elementary.

To be eligible for the program, children must be 4 years old by Sept. 1, 2017 and residents of Dawson County.

Registration will take place on March 28 in coordination with Bright from the Start and the Department of Early Care and Learning.

To register, parents may contact Early Childhood Coordinator Shari Chastain by calling (706) 216-5812, ext. 1963. Messages can be left as early as 12:01 a.m. on March 28.

No messages can be left in the general school mailbox.

Phone calls will be returned with directions for the next step in the process and spots are filled on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Classrooms include and support children with special needs.

Once a classroom is filled to capacity, a wait list will be created in the order of calls received.

To register a child, the following documents are required: copy of birth certificate, copy of social security card, immunization form No. 3231, eye/ear/dental/nutrition form No. 3300, proof of Dawson County residency (ex. utility bill), copy of Medicaid card, SSI eligibility, TANF, food stamps or CAPS if applicable, copy of custody documents if applicable.
