The principal of Kilough Elementary School announced her retirement from the school system this week.
Lois Zangara notified the school system that she would not renew her administrative contract, which would be up for renewal at the end of June.
As of press time, a replacement had not yet been chosen for Zangara, who has been with the system for many years.
Superintendent Keith Porter said the school system would miss her.
“She’s a wonderful person and a wonderful administrator,” Porter said. “We hate to lose her.”
Added Porter: “She’s well respected among the parents, teachers and school system stakeholders.”
