Students from the fourth and fifth grades participated in Kilough Elementary School’s spelling bee Friday, Jan. 9.

Nine students participated in the event.

A spelling bee was held in each fourth and fifth grade classroom to determine one student from each class to participate in the school-wide spelling bee.

The first runner-up from each classroom was also sent as an alternate.

Patrick Moody from Dorothy Brinson’s fourth grade class won the spelling bee after spelling the words gallery and wizard correctly.

Tyler Donaldson from Tim Spooner’s fifth grade class was the runner-up and will be an alternate in the system-wide spelling bee at 9 a.m. Friday at Dawson County Middle School.
