Last week, Black's Mill Elementary School hosted a variety of holiday events for the students.
Fourth graders were treated to a taste of colonial life and schooling recently during Colonial Day while kindergarteners stayed warm in their pajamas, watching and reading "The Polar Express."
Writing in horn books, using primers and churning butter were just a handful of events the fourth-grade class enjoyed.
There was even a guest speaker from the Daughters of the American Revolution on hand to tell the children stories about life in colonial times.
The kindergarten class had a chance to wear their pajamas to school for Polar Express Day.
The children enjoyed hot chocolate and snacks while watching the movie.
Afterward, the classes had activities themed around the movie and had an interactive reading of the book by the same name.
