Student Art Show: The City of Ember

This semesters student art show at Dawson County High School took visitors on a trip into an alternate universe; the world of Steampunk.

Shelby Sage is the director of The City of Ember and she decided to go with the Steampunk theme after sculpting figurines from a book.

Sages reproduction of the characters, which are animals, feature gears from old and damaged watches.

Steampunk is sub-genre of science fiction and fantasy and is characterized by design and art themes from the Industrial era. The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, which began as a graphic novel, is set in a Steampunk universe.

Each year alumni of the Dawson County High School art program are invited back to judge the show.
