Seven represent on All-Area 8-AA teams

It was a season to remember for the Dawson County varsity basketball program and now the Tigers and Lady Tigers are being recognized as several members of the boys and girls squads were recently named to the 8-AA All-Area Teams.

The boys put together an exciting season for the fans to enjoy, becoming Region Champions and advancing to the Elite Eight in the State Tournament.

Among the four members of the team to be recognized this week is junior guard Tyler Dominy, who was named First Team All-Area after he averaged 14.6 points, eight rebounds and two blocks per game.

Junior guard Will Anglin was named Second-Team All-Area after averaging nine points, three and a half rebounds and two steals per contest.

Junior forward Bruce Clark received Honorable Mention after averaging nine points and over eight rebounds per game, while sophomore guard Jonathan Sanderson also received Honorable Mention after averaging over six points, and four assists.

Representing the Lady Tigers on the All-Area Team is junior guard Carly Gilreath, who was named First-Team All-Area.

Junior post player Allie Costley received Honorable Mention, as did senior wing player Morgan Huber.

The All-Area teams are nominated and voted on by the 8-AA coaches.
