The Dawson County Sherrifs Office (DCSO) has made a considerable impact on some of Dawson County childrens perceptions of law enforcement.

The DCSO raised funds and purchased gifts to give children who have family currently incarcerated. Officers and staff from all DCSO divisions and departments donated to the cause.

In our efforts to provide the children gifts, we instill a trust in law enforcement here in Dawson County, not only with the children, but also with the parent, says Lieutenant Frank Sosebee. It shows that we do care about their future.

The idea originated when Sosebee began fundraising for the children of the Georgia Sheriffs Youth Homes. Sosebees efforts raised $1,725 to divide among five youth homes. Sosebee is also the First Vice-President of the Georgia Jail Association and the association donated $1,250 to the cause.

Thank God we have someone like Billy Carlisle as our sheriff, Sosebee said. Its nice to be able to do things like this for the community. Sosebee said he hopes this will be an annual event.
