Leap For Literacy

Roughly 50 participants and two canines participated in the fifth annual Leap For Literacy at War Hill Park in Dawson County on Saturday, Feb. 28. There were four teams of toe tappers, two groups of ramp runners, two individual leapers, and five teams. Despite a reported air temperature of approximately 42 degrees (and lower with wind chill) and an estimated water temperature of 50 degrees, conditions didnt dampen the spirits of the crowd or participants. Proceeds from the fundraiser benefit Dawson Wee Books. We always appreciate the brave souls who make this event possible, and the fact that they have provided enough money for us to be able to mail out books to about 125 children for a year, Lionel Graves, Dawson Wee Books chair said. Sponsored by Ric Rack and Marge Carey team Kinsey Family Farms Girls (pictured) included left to right: Jennifer Kinsey, Charlotte Shook, Susan Roof, Karyl Sepaka, Patti Campbell and Liz Kinsey.
