Dispatch received a call at 1:12 p.m. from a victim requesting assistance, Sheriff Billy Carlisle said. Dispatch heard a woman screaming, then gunfire. Fifty-six seconds later officers arrived on the scene and one more gunshot was heard. At this point, It appears to be a domestic situation.

At the time, officers believed there was potential for a hostage situation, and a Forsyth County SWAT team and negotiator were notified, authorities said.

While they were in route a decision was made to breach the front door and go in because we were concerned there might be children in the residence, Carlisle said. But, no children were inside.

After entering the home, one deceased male was found on the living room floor and a deceased female was found in the upstairs bedroom, Carlise said.

A search warrant for the residence was being issued and an investigation is currently underway.

I want everyone to know the situation was contained inside the home and there is no danger to the community, Carlisle said.
