A south Georgia man suspected of shoplifting at the North Georgia Premium Outlets in Dawson County was arrested last week in Forsyth, officials said.

The arrest of Delton Styles of Albany on April 19 came not long after Dawson County deputies posted a lookout for a male suspect that employees at the Dawsonville outlet mall reported had taken items from several stores.

A Forsyth County deputy spotted a vehicle that matched the description of the lookout and pulled over Styles.

After struggling against being detained and attempting to get rid of the suspected drugs he reportedly had, Delton Styles of Albany was arrested along Ga. 400, according to a social media post from the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office.

He was reportedly "uncooperative and attempted to discard drugs that were on his person" and "physically struggled with deputies," according to the sheriff's office.

He was charged in Forsyth County with obstruction, possession of cocaine and marijuana, providing a false name and driving on a suspended license. There also are other drug charges.

In Dawson County, he has been charged with theft by shoplifting.

He was booked into the Forsyth County Jail without bond.

The drugs were reportedly found, and Dawson County Sheriff's deputies arrived on scene to collect the items that were reportedly stolen from the outlet mall.
