The 22nd annual Dawson County Chamber of Commerce banquet is just around the corner.

The gala will be held at 6 p.m. Jan. 25 at the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame. This year's theme will be "Postcards from Dawson."

"We hope all our chamber members and members of the community will join us for our upcoming gala," said Christie Haynes, chamber president. "This year's focus will be celebrating all of the places, people, and businesses that we are blessed with in Dawson County."

"The theme was chosen to celebrate all of the great businesses, attractions, and beauty we have in Dawson County," said Kara Hewatt, membership director for the chamber.

The chamber is currently seeking sponsors for post cards of various scenes of Dawson County and Dawsonville. The postcards will be displayed at the event, along with the corresponding postcard sponsor.

The banquet is the chamber's largest fundraising event.

"The event is a great opportunity to network with our members and enjoy the spirit of our community," said Haynes

Awards will also be handed out to members of the chamber during the banquet. The awards given this year will be the Don Gordon Business Leader of the Year award, the Jim Wallace Volunteer of the Year award, Ambassador of the Year and the Chairman's Award.

The Business Leader and Volunteer of the year awards are chosen by chamber members with the members voting by nomination form, which are available through the chamber. The deadline for nominations is Jan. 9.

Attendees are asked to dress in "cocktail attire."

Tickets are $65 per person and can be purchased from the chamber office or at www.dawson.org.
