Produce market opens June 29

Once again the Dawson County Extension will host a produce market in Dawsonville.

This is the ninth year for the market. Last year it was a great success with farmers, as well as gardeners, selling locally grown fruits and vegetables.

The market will open on June 29.

The details are as follows:

The Dawson County Produce Market will be held from 7:30 a.m. until sold out each Wednesday and Saturday. (It should be noted last year many sellers were sold out by 9 a.m.)

The produce market will be in the parking lot of the Dawson County Agricultural Center in Dawsonville (old library building) which is located at 298 Academy Avenue.

Only locally grown fruits and vegetables, not canned, may be sold. To ensure produces are locally grown, sellers must be from Dawson County or a county that touches Dawson. A copy of the rules may be picked up at the Dawson County Extension Office.

To sell at the market is free and everyone is welcome to buy produce.

For more information on the produce market, contact the Dawson County Extension Office at (706) 265-2442.
