Last year’s inaugural holiday fundraiser at Providence Bible Church was such a success, organizers decided to do it again this year.
Church member Cathlyn Zwemke said the Dec. 5 event is a chance for “people to really reach out and show the love of Christ through giving.”
The gathering will feature free gingerbread house decorating, a showing of “Charlie Brown’s Christmas Special” on a big screen television and a performance by the Dawson County High School Chamber Singers.
A speaker from World Vision — the event’s beneficiary — will also be there to speak about the organization.
According to its Web site, World Vision is a “Christian humanitarian organization dedicated to working with children, families and their communities worldwide to reach their full potential by tackling the causes of poverty and injustice.”
To help raise dollars for World Vision, an assortment of items will be up for auction during the fundraiser.
Tickets for an iPad raffle are $10 and may be purchased in advance.
Gingerbread house decorating, movie viewing and silent auction will be from 5 to 6 p.m. The high school chamber singers will perform and the iPad will be raffled from 6 to 7 p.m.
To purchase advance tickets, call (706) 265-4461.
