Walking into her new home Saturday, Bethany Berg said she thanked God for giving her something so perfect and special.
"The house is absolutely perfect ... everything about it is everything I could have wanted," she said.
Berg and her two teenage sons moved into their new Habitat for Humanity home in northern Forsyth County over the weekend.
The organization held a ceremony Saturday to dedicate the home.
"In our old house, the kids didn't take ownership," said Berg, who had rented for many years. "Now they have somewhere they can call home."
The three-bedroom, two-bath home sits on about an acre not far from Browns Bridge Road.
The Bergs were the first Dawson County family approved for home ownership after a group of local volunteers formed nearly four years ago with plans to extend Habitat's presence in the area.
When land was not immediately available in Dawson, the group worked with Habitat for Humanity North Central Georgia officials to build the house in neighboring Forsyth.
"We haven't totally moved everything in, but this feels like home," Berg said.
