Despite a great deal of community interest, the Dawson County News’ “Flavors of North Georgia” event has been cancelled due to local restaurants being short-staffed and unable to participate.

The event, which was set to be on June 12 at Veterans Memorial Park, was aimed at offering an overview of the different cuisines and flavors that the area has to offer through providing a place for local restaurants to sell their food from vendor tables or food trucks. Unfortunately, because so many local restaurants are currently suffering from a lack of employees, not enough restaurant owners were able to both operate a booth at the event and keep their restaurant running as usual at the same time.

While the event has been cancelled for now, it will be rescheduled in the future when restaurants once again have enough staff to be able to participate.

When the event has officially been rescheduled, announcements and updates will be posted on the Dawson County News website and social media pages.
