15 local Trunk-or-Treat events to visit this Halloween season

It’s that time of year again to pick out the Halloween costumes, round up the kids and go to your favorite trick or treat or trunk or treat event. The North Georgia area offers a plethora of truck or treat options that will be fun for the whole family. Here are some of the Halloween events that will be taking place between now and Halloween night. 


Bethel United Methodist Church Tent or Treat 

When it is: Saturday Oct. 23 from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Where it is: Lumpkin Campground across from the church; 100 Lumpkin Campground Road South, Dawsonville, 30534

What it offers: Trick or treating for all children in the community

Concord Baptist Church Trunk of Treat (Cumming, GA) 

When is it: Sunday, Oct. 24 from 4:15-6:15  p.m. 

Where is it: 6905 Concord Road, Cumming

What it offers: Concord will be putting together Christmas Backpacks as well for its mission trip to Kentucky. Attendees are encouraged to donate a personal hygiene item such as a toothbrush, toothpaste, soap or washcloth. Candy, activities, games, hot dogs and more hosted by Midway UMC. 


Trunk or Treat at Silver City Baptist Church

When it is: Sunday Oct. 24 at 5:00 p.m. 

Where it is: 6170 Jewell Bennett Road, Dawsonville, 30534

What it offers: The event will include trunk or treating, cake walks, chili cook off, a hotdog dinner, cake auction, games, hay rides and a devotion.

Lanier Hills Church Trunk or Treat and Fall Festival (Gainesville, GA) 

When it is: Wednesday Oct. 27 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. 

Where it is: 3129 Duckett Mill Road, Gainesville, 30506

What it offers: The festival will offer an evening full of costumes and trunk or treating. The event will include hayrides, a cake walk, candy, games, inflatables and more. Attendees will also get the chance to vote on their favorite trunk to help its owner win big.

Lakewood Baptist Church Pumpkin Fest (Gainesville, GA) 

When it is: Wednesday Oct. 27 at 5:30 p.m.

Where it is: 2235 Thompson Bridge Road, Gainesville, 30501

What it offers: The festival will offer several options for free activities and free food. Free activities will include activity booths, inflatables, a petting zoo, kid’s turkey shoot and more. Free food items will include roasted corn, popcorn, cotton candy, cupcake walk and Bruster’s Ice Cream. Event attendees will also have the option to purchase other food items, including hot dogs from Hot Dog Ninja, barbecue, food from Skogies restaurant, and slushies from Frozen Frenzee.

Kiddie Academy Trunk or Treat (Cumming, GA) 

When it is: Thursday, Oct. 28 from 4:00 to 5:30 pm 

Where it is: 450 Brannon Road, Cumming 

What it offers: Costume parade, games, face painting, Zumba dances, lemonade stand and more. 


Cumming First United Methodist Church Trunk or Treat (Cumming, GA) 

When it is: Friday, Oct. 29 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. 

Where it is: 770 Canton Highway, Cumming 

What it offers: Trunk-or-treat with candy, costumes and more hosted by Cumming First UMC. 


Trunk or Treat at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church

When it is: Friday Oct. 29 from 6:00 to 9:00  p.m.

Where it is: 991 Kilough Church Road, Dawsonville, 30534

What it offers: The event will include decorated trunks with candy, a trunk contest and a costume contest with prizes.

Fall Hallelujah Harvest Festival at Chestatee Worship Center

When it is: Friday Oct. 29 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. 

Where it is: 2057 Dawson Forest Road East, Dawsonville, 30534

What it offers: The harvest festival will offer fun and games for the whole family, free of charge. There will also be the option for attendees to purchase Meemaw’s country cooking and carnival foods.

New Hope United Methodist Church Trunk or Treat (Gainesville, GA) 

When it is: Saturday Oct. 30 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.

What it offers: The event will include trunk or treating for the whole family, along with inflatables, food, candy and fun for the whole family.

First Redeemer Fall Festival (Cumming)

When it is: Sunday, Oct. 31 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. 

Where it is: 2100 Peachtree Parkway, Cumming

What it offers: Fall festival with games, costumes and more. Admission is one bag of pre-wrapped candy. 

Harvest of Hope by Friendship Baptist Church (Cumming, GA) 

When it is: Sunday, Oct. 31 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. 

Where it is: 2250 Friendship Circle,  Cumming

What it offers: The event will start off with Sunday school at 8:30 a.m. and an outdoor worship service at 10:30 a.m. before a costume parade and trunk or treating from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.

Rock Creek Park Trunk or Treat 

When it is: Sunday Oct. 31 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.

What it offers: The event will be on rain or shine and will offer an evening of free fun for the whole family. It will include candy, treats, toys, promotional items, carnival games, bounce house, hay rides and more.

Duck’s Truck and Treat

When it is: Sunday Oct. 31 from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. 

Where it is: Launch Trampoline Park parking lot; 78 Village Way North, Dawsonville, 30534

What it offers: The event, which is in memory of Kaleb Duckworth who passed away in July, will include trunk or treating open to children of all ages in the community.
