Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Marvin Johnson of Birmingham, Ala. announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Angela Frances Johnson, to Thomas Daniel Marshall.

  

He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Albert Marshall of Atlanta.

  

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Kasper Johnson and the late Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Contri.

  

Miss Johnson graduated magna cum laude from The University of Alabama with an undergraduate and graduate degree in marketing.

  

She was a four-year letterman on The University of Alabama softball team, a member of Mortar Board, Omicron Delta Kappa, XXXI women's honorary and Alpha Chi Omega social sorority.

  

She is a 2000 graduate of John Carroll Catholic High School and is employed in Atlanta.

  

The groom-elect is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Francis Timmons Webb of Dawsonville and Mrs. Robert Crane Marshall and the late Mr. Robert Crane Marshall of Atlanta. 

  

He graduated from Furman University with a degree in business.

  

He was a four-year letterman on the Furman University football team, NCAA All American, and the recipient of the Furman University Student Athlete Achievement Award.

  

He is a 2000 graduate of Marist High School in Atlanta and is employed in Atlanta.

  

The wedding is planned for Nov. 22, 2008 at 6:30 p.m. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Birmingham, Ala.
