Some of you may have heard that the Dawson County Health Department would not give you an appointment for the second COVID-19 vaccine if you did not get the first vaccine from them.

That was not correct. You can get the second vaccine from the Dawson County Health Department regardless of where you got the first vaccine if they have the vaccine available and if they have an available appointment. But right now they are out of vaccines and have a long waiting list.

Most people calling are calling the health department because they received the first vaccine at a location that did not have enough vaccines for a second dose. Keep calling local providers and keep trying. There are vaccines out there somewhere, you just have to find them. Or better yet, call the Governor’s Office and complain about not getting the second vaccine from the same people who gave you the first vaccine.

Even my wife is leaving the county to get her second vaccine.
