Jerline Stephens, 92, of Flowery Branch, died Jan. 31, 2014.

Born Jan. 31, 1922, in Dawson County to the late Nay and Eva Howard, she lived in Flowery Branch for the past 64 years.

Mrs. Stephens was a homemaker and the oldest member of Sweetwater Baptist Church. She was very devoted to her family, her church, enjoyed gardening and sharing what she grew with others.

Her husband of 60 years, Glen Stephens; sons, Randall Stephens, Dennis Stephens; great-grandchildren, Benjamin Pruett, Felecia Stephens; sisters, Juanita Wigington, Barbara Reed; and brothers, Hugh Howard and Charles Howard, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and James Pruett of Dawsonville; daughter-in-law, Barbara Ann Stephens Bryant of Gainesville; sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and L.D. Grizzle of Dahlonega; grandchildren, Tommy and Patricia Stephens, Jimmy and Meghan Pruett, David and Donna Pruett, Jonathan and Amy Pruett, Tonya Helton, Tammy Stephens; eight great-grandchildren; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Feb. 2, at Sweetwater Baptist Church with the Revs. Darrin Sams, Doug DeLong, Harold Evans and Wendell Thompson officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
