Democracy was born on July 4, 1776 when our forefathers declared independence from Britain, allowing us to live freely in this great nation.
The following year, Americans began celebrating the historical day with elaborate revelry.
Today, the traditions continue every July 4 to mark our country's birthday. The celebratory festivities have changed little. Patriotism abounds as we commemorate the greatest day in American history by honoring those who fought for our freedom, eating fantastic food and spending time with family and friends, while enjoying the spectacle of "bombs bursting in air."
From small town festivities to magnificent exhibitions, North Georgia offers a variety of July 4th weekend possibilities.
