A winter weather advisory has been issued for Dawson County from 7 p.m. tonight through 10 a.m. Friday.
Forecasts suggest the area could receive 1-2 inches of snow with some accumulation on roads possible.
"Based on conversations and predictions, impact from this event should be minimal as temperatures are currently in the mid-40s and highs tomorrow are predicted in the 50s," said Dawson County Emergency Services Chief Lanier Swafford.
"Much uncertainty still exists as to whether this will be a rain or snow event."
Dawson County Parks and Recreation has canceled its open house previously scheduled for tonight in anticipation of the potential of the storm system.
