Dawson County is under a winter weather advisory through 10 p.m. tonight as a mix of rain, freezing rain and sleet move into the area.
The cold weather system moving into the area is expected to make black ice a "threat and hazard throughout the evening and overnight hours," according to Dawson County Emergency Services Chief Lanier Swafford.
Some mixed precipitation could fall across the county this afternoon, though accumulations are only anticipated in higher elevations.
Higher elevations could see as much .25 inches of sleet and up to 0.2 inches of ice or freezing rain.
