Veteran markers will be put out Wednesday

Members of Etowah Masonic Lodge No. 222, Free & Accepted Masons, Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter No. 970, Dawsonville Lions Club and Dawson County Jaycees will be placing Veterans memorial markers today for this year's Independence Day in the City of Dawsonville.

The markers are to honor deceased men and women who have served honorably in one of the branches of military service.

The Veterans to be honored the first time are: Luke Martin, Jimmy R. Reeves and Ralph D. Fowler.

There markers can be seen around the old courthouse in downtown Dawsonville.

There will be 144 Dawson County veterans remembered with Memorial Markers this Independence Day.

Remember to enjoy your Independence Day celebrations and to pause and remember all veterans on the special day.
