Georgia State Patrol Post 37-Cumming is accepting gifts for the Marine Corps' annual Toys for Tots drive.

Troopers will be at the Dawsonville Home Depot from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Sunday collecting donations.

Donated toys should be new and unwrapped for newborns to teens. Monetary donations will also be accepted. Checks can be made out to "Marine Toys for Tots Foundation."

"I'm ... asking for your support of a new, unwrapped toy for the Marine Corps Reserve. They'll see that your donation fulfills the dreams of a child who might otherwise be forgotten," said Cpl. Jody Caldwell.

Representatives with the Dawson County Sheriff's Office and Dawson County Emergency Services will also be on hand to offer child safety seat checks. The child does not have to be present, but it would be helpful to insure proper fitting.

Toys can also be dropped off from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at the post, located at 4055 County Way, just off Ga. 400 in north Forsyth. Post 37 serves Dawson, Forsyth and Lumpkin counties. The cut-off date to drop off donation is Dec. 20.
