Three nights of gospel music are set to take place June 20-22 in the beautiful mountain town of Dahlonega, as multi-award winning vocal group, Karen Peck & New River, hosts the annual Karen Peck & New River Homecoming Gospel Music Under the Stars.

The event, which takes place at New River Park, located at 300 Gooch Road, will feature many of the most popular names in Southern Gospel Music, including: The Triumphant Quartet, Brian Free & Assurance, The Primitive Quartet, popular male vocalist Joseph Habedank and NBC’s The Voice season nine first runner up Emily Ann Roberts. Karen Peck & New River will be featured each night.

The voice of Gospel Music Hall of Fame member and Gainesville native, Karen Peck Gooch is unmistakable. With her popular trio New River, she has enjoyed five Grammy Award nominations, as well as six Dove Awards from the Gospel Music Association.

The musical team of Karen Peck & New River was formed in January of 1991 when Gooch teamed with her husband, Rickey, and her sister, Susan Peck Jackson, to form the group. She had already made a name for herself, serving as beloved Soprano for the popular Rex Nelon Singers for a decade. During that time she earned her first GMA Dove Award, as well as her first of 11 consecutive Singing News Fan Awards for Favorite Soprano.

Much success has followed the popular vocalist since the formation of Karen Peck & New River. Over the years, the musical team has shared the Gospel through song around the world, traveling throughout the U.S. and Canada, as well as Mexico, Honduras, Israel and Europe. The group is regularly featured on the popular Gaither Homecoming Video Series, which airs around the world.

“We are so excited to host our annual Homecoming right here in our hometown,” Gooch said. “In the past the event has been held during Father’s Day weekend, but this year we decided to move the event to the following weekend, and we have also added an extra day. We hope that all of our friends from Northeast Georgia will gather with our friends from all across the country for this special weekend of Gospel Music under the stars. It’s going to be so much fun.”

In addition the music of several of Gospel Music’s most popular names, three speakers, Chris Butler, Ray Flynn and CT Townsend, will share encouraging messages. The weekend will also feature the 50-plus-voice Wilmington Celebration Choir led by Joey Gore.

Great food and country cooking concessions will be available at the park. Those attending simply need to bring a lawn chair and a hearty appetite for great food and great Gospel music and enjoy three wonderful nights of Gospel music under the stars.

In case of rain, a large tent will be on site at the Park. Complete information, including ticket pricing, discounts and hotel recommendations is available at, via Karen Peck & New River Facebook, or by calling 1 (888) 238-6858.
