Three cases of child molestation, rape reported in Dawson

Three separate incidents involving child molestation and strong arm rape of a child were reported to the Dawson County Sheriff's Office in April, one concluding in an arrest. In the first instance, a Dawsonville man was arrested April 9 and charged with two felony counts of child molestation and two felony counts of enticing a child for indecent purposes. The man, Santiago Lara-Arrellano, 38, was also charged with presenting false identification information.

The First Baptist Church of Dawsonville hosted its Vacation Bible School kick-off event on Sunday, June 5, complete with inflatables, a petting zoo, bluegrass music and a stunt show featuring a motorcycle and BMX bikes.
