T-Bone wreck at Duck Thurmond injures two

A wreck the morning of June 29 at Duck Thurmond Road and Hwy. 53 injured two and sent one to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The wreck occurred at 9:55 a.m.

According to Corporal Jody Caldwell with the Georgia State Patrol, a 2000 Toyota Corolla driven by Kristin Green, 17, of Dawsonville, was stopped at the stop sign of Duck Thurmond Road and Hwy. 53.

A 2004 Toyota Tacoma, driven by Adam Smith, 49, of Canton, was traveling west on Hwy. 53 when Green failed to yield to the Tacoma.

The front of Smith's vehicle struck the driver's side of Green's vehicle. Both vehicles came to an uncontrolled final rest within the intersection.

Green was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center by Dawson County Emergency Services with non-life threatening injuries.

Smith was not transported but did receive non-life threatening injuries.

Both parties were wearing seatbelts and alcohol and drugs are not suspected at this time.

Green was charged with failure to yield after stopping at a stop sign.
