Sawnee Electric Membership Corporation (Sawnee) announced today that on September 19, 2019, its Board of Directors approved a retail rate reduction for the remainder of 2019. On average, each affected account will experience a decrease of approximately $12.37 for every 1,500 kWh of energy used. The rate reduction will occur in Sawnee’s Rate Schedule ‘R’, Wholesale Power Cost Adjustment (WPCA) factor, which is a billing component within most retail rate schedule Sawnee uses to generate a member’s electric bill.
