Rape Response is currently accepting applications for interested volunteers to work with survivors of sexual assault.

Rape Response Inc. provides help to survivors of sexual assault, their families and loved ones, serving Georgia residents in Dawson, Forsyth, Habersham, Hall, Lumpkin and White counties.

Volunteers are trained to respond to crisis calls and accompany assault survivors to the hospital. No previous experience is necessary for those interested in volunteering, but those interested must live within 30 minutes of the Gainesville campus of the Northeast Georgia Medical Center as well as pass a background check, interview and 30 hours of required training.

A volunteer training series will be offered for Spring 2020 over the course of three Saturdays. Training will be held from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Feb. 8, Feb. 22 and Feb. 29. A light breakfast and lunch will be provided at all training dates.

Attendance for all three sessions plus five hours of online training are required to complete volunteer training.

If you are interested in a rewarding volunteer position, please contact Gale Adams, Volunteer Coordinator at 770-503-7273 or apply online at www.raperesponse.com.
