Rape Response is accepting applications for those interested in volunteering to work with survivors of sexual assault. No previous experience is necessary.

Volunteers are trained to respond to crisis calls and accompany assault survivors to the hospital, so you must live within 30 minutes of Northeast Georgia Medical Center. A background check, interview and 30 hours of training are required. Volunteer training series will be offered on the following days:

  • 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Feb. 10 (light breakfast and lunch provided)
  • 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Feb. 17 (light breakfast and lunch provided)
  • 5:30-8:30 p.m. Feb. 22 (dinner provided)
  • 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Feb. 24 (light breakfast and lunch provided)

Attendance at all four sessions is required to complete volunteer training.

For more information, contact volunteer coordinator Gale Adams at (770) 503-7273 or apply online at www.raperesponse.com.
