On Dec. 20, Homestead Hospice presented the quilt to Pugh.

The mission of the Quilts of Valor Foundation is to cover service members and veterans touched by war with comforting and healing Quilts of Valor. The handmade quilt was donated by the Misty Mountain Quilters Guild and the local Quilts of Valor Chapter.

Pugh joined the Army and served through Vietnam until his retirement.

Attending the ceremony were Mr. Pugh’s roommate and fellow Veteran, Dennis Hamilton. Also in attendance was Janice Pearsall RN of Homestead Hospice.

Shannon Larsen, Homestead Hospice Volunteer Coordinator, began the Quilt of Valor ceremony, then

Bethany Clark, Social Worker and Chaplin, led the prayer.  Pugh was then covered with his quilt.
