Potential bypass routes to be discussed at GDOT meeting

The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) is holding an informational meeting next week regarding the proposed new location of a bypass route around the city of Dawsonville between Hwy. 9 and Hwy. 53.

The meeting will be held from 5-7 p.m. June 4 at Dawson County High School.

Signs informing the community of the public meeting were placed on the corners of Perimeter Road at its intersections with Hwy. 53 and Hwy. 9 last week.

The project is in the only in the concept phase at this time. GDOT staff will be at the meeting to show the proposed bypass layout to the public as well as answer questions and concerns.

Citizens are encouraged to attend and leave comments with either the court reporter or on the comment card that will be provided.

Dawson County High School is at 1665 Perimeter Road in Dawsonville.
