Dawson County Emergency Services recently held its annual banquet marking the end of the year with awards given to nine of the department’s personnel who were awarded based on votes from their peers.
“We would like to thank our dedicated and motivated Coworkers who voted for us and who support us every day,” said Lt. Michael Baumgartner, speaking on behalf of all the awardees. “It is truly a blessing to be honored by our peers and serve the citizens and visitors of Dawson County.”
Award winners included: Robert Richards, Firefighter/EMT of the Year; Justin Mitchell, Firefighter/Paramedic of the Year; Lt. Michael Baumgartner, Fire Officer of the Year; Fire Marshal Jeff Bailey, Chief’s Award; Lt. James Free and Firefighter/EMT Josh Warren, Merit Award; Keith Mangum, Firefighter of the Year; Dawn Phillips, Appreciation Award; and Battalion Chief Doug Wofford who is retiring after 40 years of volunteer service.
