According to a release by Northeast Georgia Health System, Dr. Andrea Huntley will be joining the NGHS team as a licensed child and adolescent psychiatrist.

“Andrea Landers Huntley, MD, MPH, will now be providing psychiatric care right here in Dawsonville, where she will specialize in child and adolescent psychiatry,” the release said.

Huntley holds a medical degree from the University of Arkansas College of Medicine and a master’s degree in Public Health from the University of Alabama in Birmingham. She completed both her adult psychiatry residency and her child and adolescent psychiatry residency at the University of Kentucky Department of Psychiatry.

The role Huntley will play in the organization will be an important one, according to the release.

“Children and adolescents should always be able to receive the psychiatric care they need without having to leave their community,” NGPG President Daniel Tuffy said in the release. “We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Huntley to the NGPG Psychiatry team in Dawsonville, where her expertise will enable us to provide essential mental health services to our younger patients.”

NGPG Psychiatry offers a range of behavioral health and psychiatric services, as well as an array of resources through Northeast Georgia Health System, according to the release.

“At NGPG Psychiatry, providers understand that mental and emotional well-being are an integral part of overall wellness,” the release said. “NGPG Psychiatry’s board-certified physicians and dedicated licensed clinical social workers offer the option of video visits for the treatment of a variety of psychiatric conditions.”

These new services will be offered at Medical Plaza 400, at 108 Prominence Court Suite 200. The office is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
