The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office has announced that it recently concluded a week-long operation, titled Operation Watchful Eye, aimed at cracking down on registered sex offenders and ensuring their compliance with probation conditions.

According to a news release by Cpl. Doug Rainwater, a spokesman for the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, between May 21 and May 25 investigators visited the homes of 40 sex offenders and made nine arrests.

“We do an operation similar to this a few times each year to make sure they are keeping up with parole,” Rainwater said. “Unless someone is on our radar, in that case investigators go out immediately.“

The news release stated that the following individuals were arrested in the operation:

Jody Lee Flowers, 40, of Cumming was arrested on May 21 for violating the conditions of his probation by allegedly possessing pornographic materials.

Deon Brinkley, 43, of Cumming was arrested on May 21 for violating the conditions of his parole by allegedly having unsupervised contact with minors.

Christopher Woodall, 44, of Cumming was arrested for violating the conditions of his parole by allegedly possessing pornographic material.

Thomas Flynn, 42, of Dawson County was arrested for violating the conditions of his probation by allegedly possessing pornographic material.

Michael Brashear, 43, of Cumming was arrested on May 22 for violating the conditions of his probation by allegedly possessing pornographic material.

Salvadore Lauricella Jr., 59, of Cumming was arrested on May 22 for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

Stephen Moon Jr., 43, of Cumming was arrested on May 23 for violating the conditions of his probation by possessing pornographic material.

Alex Ethan Lane, 29, of Cherokee County was arrested on May 23 for violating the conditions of his probation by possessing pornographic material and social media on his phone. The release states that Lane has not been required to register as a sex offender, “however due to his original sex charges, he has all sex offender conditions per probation,” according to the release.

Kenny Turner, 25, of Cumming was arrested on May 24 for allegedly violating the conditions of his probation by possessing two non-monitored phones, possession of pornographic material on the phones, and for “possibly living somewhere else than his registered address.”

Rainwater said that Flynn and Lane were arrested and transported out of the county, to Dawson and Cherokee County respectively, for probation in those counties.

He added that by agreeing to the terms of their parole, most sex offenders agree to have their homes and electronic devices searched by authorities with no warning.

At present, 142 registered sex offenders live within Forsyth County, according to the sheriff’s office sex offenders registry.
