The annual Miss Relay for Life Beauty Pageant is now accepting applications through May 3.

The pageant is open to all females, birth through 12th grade, and all funds received are set to benefit Dawson County Relay for Life. Contestants do not have to be Dawson County residents.

Divisions available include: Baby Miss - 0-18 months, Tiny Miss - 19-35 months, Teeny Miss - 3-4 years, Petite Miss - 5 years-1st grade, Sweetheart - 2nd-3rd grade, Junior Miss - 4th-5th grade, Teen Miss 6th-8th grade, Miss - 9th-12th grade.

There are five optional categories that contestants can sign up for, including: Photogenic, prettiest dress, prettiest smile, prettiest eyes and prettiest hair, with a $10 bonus for each category applied for.

Contestants will be judged based on the following: Age-appropriateness of attire, personality, overall appearance and stage presence.

Participants in the Junior, Teen and Miss divisions should be prepared to answer an on-stage question.

Awards will be given to a winner, first and second runners up in each age division.

Ambassador Queen will be given to the contestant who raises the most money to be donated to the American Cancer Society. Money must be submitted no later than rehearsal date of May 4.

Applications are due May 3 and can be mailed to Dawson County Parks and Recreation at P.O. Box 808, Dawsonville, GA 30534. The entry fee is $30 for the pageant, plus an additional $10 per each optional category.

A $20 late fee will be applied to applications submitted at the May 4 rehearsal.

The pageant will be held in the Dawson County Middle School Auditorium with doors opening at noon, May 5.

Intermission will be held from 3 to 3:30 p.m.
