Dawson County Schools Superintendent Damon Gibbs confirmed that an incident occurred late last month between two students and a teacher at Dawson County Middle School that left the teacher seeking medical attention. Gibbs said that the Feb. 27 event is under investigation at this time and will be dealt with in accordance with the school system code of conduct and discipline procedures. "Because of federal and state privacy protections the District does not and cannot release information regarding specific student discipline matters," Gibbs wrote in an email.
