A man was killed Monday afternoon when a tree fell on the truck he was driving. 

The incident occurred on Hwy. 136 just west of New Bethel Church Road in Dawsonville shortly after 2 p.m. 

According to Sheriff Jeff Johnson, the Georgia State Patrol has been called to work the scene. 

Hwy. 136 is closed at the scene and Johnson said he expects it will remain closed for several hours.
