Low cost rabies vaccinations will be available Saturday at various locations across the county.
Rabies shots are $10, and additional yearly vaccinations are available during the clinic.
Veterinarian Ed Holton is one of a group local doctors participating in the clinic.
"It is important to vaccinate your pets not only for their protection but more importantly for the general population," he said.
Holton will be at Burt's Pumpkin Farm from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. and at the Dawson County Courthouse from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
Veterinarians Will and Emily Baldwin will be at Kilough Elementary School from 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m.
Georgia is among many states that require all dogs and cats to be vaccinated for rabies.
While the local 4-H rabies clinic only vaccinates dogs and cats, farm animals and horses can also be vaccinated for rabies, according to Holton.
Sponsored by Dawson County 4-H, the annual clinic is a fundraiser for the program.
Participating vets donate half of all monies collected for rabies vaccinations to the 4-H program in Dawson County.
